Ontario Autism Urgent Response Services supports families of children (under the age of18) who are registered with the Ontario Autism Program who are experiencing one or more Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services defined key high-risk factors that have started or worsened in the last 14 days.
Ontario Autism Urgent Response Services supports families of children (under the age of 18) who are registered with the Ontario Autism Program who are experiencing one or more MCCSS defined key high-risk factors that have started or worsened in the last 14 days. Eligible children and youth who are experiencing a specific, urgent need can access support to:
· Help stabilize the situation
· Prevent crisis
· Reduce the risk of the child or youth harming themselves, others and property
Children and youth can receive up to 12 weeks of free support.
Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services 12 High-risk factors include:
· Aggression
· Property destruction
· Violent thinking
· Fire setting
· Harm to animals
· Risk of exploitation
· Self-injurious behaviour
· Suicidal thoughts or behaviour
· Inappropriate sexual behaviour
· Flight risk
Simcoe County children and youth (under the age of 18) who are registered with the Ontario Autism Program are eligible to access Ontario Autism Program Foundational Family Services. Ontario Autism Program Foundational Family Services can be accessed at any time based on individual needs and are available at no cost.
