Skill Building Foundations Program
Our goal is to have participants gain a foundation for competencies in a number of skills that will allow them to build a positive self image and encourage further recreational experiences. The Inclusive Recreation Program works in partnership with your local municipal recreation departments to further develop opportunities for recreation programming, as well as day camp experiences for children with special needs.

CONTENT OF THE PROGRAM
Life Skills:
The program is presented in an educationally sound manner: it is a positive, unintimidating and non-competitive environment where results are achieved while having fun. Coaches do not deal with only one aspect of a child's development. We have a commitment to address the whole child and follow a holistic approach, recognizing that children have social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs. As participant’s competency in motor skills improve, they improve their self-concept, which in turn affects other areas of their lives.
Movement Skills:
A specific movement program, recognizing that participants in the program need to develop basic motor skills before specialized sport skills can be tackled. Activities focus strongly on improving motor development (muscle tone, dominancy, bilateral symmetry and mid-line crossing) and motor skills fine and gross motor co-ordination, eye and foot/hand co-ordination, body balance, timing, directionality, spatial orientation and motor planning)
The program not only offers maximum movement development, but also an excellent foundation in sport.
Sport Skills:
Participants are introduced to the wonderful world of sports basic skills, sport techniques, mini matches and basic rules of varying sports.
