Skill Building
Our goal is to help children begin to build recreation skills, confidence and self esteem. The Inclusive Recreation Services is available to children with multiple special needs, including physical, developmental and/or communications disability.
What is Skill Building? :
Social Skills
We focus on a number of social skills including:
- following direction
- participation
- co-operation
- team work
We create a positive, safe place where children only compete against themselves. Children are encouraged to have fun with sport related activities under the direction of a certified Coach.
Movement Skills
The sport activities focus on:
- fine motor skills
- gross motor skills
- eye and foot/hand coordination
Sport Skills
Children are introduced to:
- basic sports skills
- mini matches
- basic rules for a range of sports
